“Carmen … makes you feel like she's your abuela.”
Carmen was very welcoming upon my arrival. While my Spanish is mediocre at best, we were able to communicate basic information. Carmen is a very sweet lady and makes you feel like she's your abuela. Her place was easy to find and get into. And it's just a few blocks away from the busy part of Alajuela, so it's very peaceful. While my stay was short, it was a great place to stay before catching an early flight out of San Jose. And only a 30 minute walk to the airport so I didn't have to worry about catching an Uber or taxi at 4am. This would be my go-to place again if I ever needed a place to stay when flying in or out of San Jose.

“Their garden at casa oasis was medicine for the soul.”
Not only was this the perfect spot to unwind while in alajuela, but Carmen and her daughter made me feel right at home. Their hospitality went above and beyond, and their garden at casa oasis was medicine for the soul :)

“On departure, she accompanied me to the bus.”
I liked it very much, the hostess was very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, we could mainly only communicate with a translator but that worked well and she helped me find ATMs, SIM card, best shopping, Uber and bus. On departure, she accompanied me to the bus and communicated with the Uber driver on arrival, as I had problems. She also offered me tea and coffee. I enjoyed the garden and terrace very much, the neighborhood is easy to explore on foot, the room was nice and perfect for the short stay. Thanks for everything!

My father built this house, and I grew up here. Today I open its doors to people who come from far away, with coffee ready, a terrace full of flowers, and every wish for you to feel at home.

Casa Oasis is in Alajuela, a 10-minute drive from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and a 5-minute walk from downtown, with sodas, restaurants, supermarkets and parks nearby. A great place to stay before an early flight in Costa Rica: thanks to self check-in, you can arrive at any time.
Plus code 2Q6M+J5, Alajuela, Costa RicaNo. It's my home: private rooms with their own bathroom inside the house where I live. If you're looking for a hotel near the airport but would rather have somewhere quieter and more personal, you'll feel right at home here.

About a 10-minute drive from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). Many guests stay here before an early flight.
Yes. We have a shuttle service to and from the airport for $20 each way. Just message me in advance so I can arrange it.
Check-in is from 2:00 p.m. and check-out is by 12:00 noon. The house has self check-in with a code, so you can arrive whenever you need to. If you get here before 6:00 p.m., I'd love to welcome you in person. After that I'm resting, but I always keep an eye out to make sure you've arrived safely.
My house doesn't have its own parking, but I work hand in hand with Parqueo Meymar, just 300 meters away (a 4-minute walk). It's ₡6,000 (approx. $13) a night, your car stays safe, and they open and close around whatever time you arrive or leave. Just let me know before you arrive that you'll need it, and I'll arrange everything. I truly recommend it: some guests have left their car on the street without any trouble, but if you do, it's at your own risk and we can't be responsible for it.
No. It's a private room with its own bathroom inside my home, where I live. We share the living room, the kitchen and the terrace.
I speak Spanish, but I use a translator and we always understand each other. Write to me in whatever language you like.
Of course — any size, and at no extra cost! I only ask that they get along with Marley, the little dog of the house. He's very sweet and gets along with everyone.
“She kindly let my cat Felix stay since early morning… Am deeply grateful for this.”
Yes, Marley lives here with us. If you're allergic to dogs, please keep that in mind.
“The cherry on top was her dog Marley, so friendly and likes to hang out.”
Always. Coffee and tea are on the house.
